Four resorts, one idea.
Quiet places across Kerala, properly kept. A house in the hills, a cottage in the valley, a planter's bungalow on the estate, and a room by the sea.
We started with one house, and kept the idea small.
Four private resorts across Kerala. A villa above the Vagamon tea gardens, cottages in Panchalimedu, a 1930s planter's bungalow near Thenmala, and a one-bedroom that opens onto the beach at Veli.
Heyday began in 2014 with a single villa above the Vagamon tea gardens. The idea was simple: a place you could have to yourself, looked after by someone who actually lives there. It worked, so we did it three more times, in three more parts of Kerala.
Today the four resorts are booked through Booking.com and Airbnb, and we still keep them small on purpose.
Quiet, properly kept.
Small on purpose
Four resorts, not forty. Each one stays small enough that the caretaker knows your name by the second morning.
Whole-property privacy
Three of the four are yours alone. No lobby, no neighbours, no sharing the pool with strangers.
Kept by hand
Real people live on each property and look after it. Breakfast is cooked, not plated from a buffet.
Quiet over loud
We choose the road less driven: Vagamon over Munnar, Panchalimedu over the crowd, a planter's estate over a hotel.
